How to Enable Java in IE8

Websites are becoming far more animated and interactive as technology improves. The Java platform is used on many websites to run a variety of applets to interact with users. It is used for things like games, chat rooms and many other interactive applications. If Java is installed on your machine, but does not work, it may not be enabled. It can be enabled through the Option menu of Internet Explorer.

Instructions

1. Launch Internet Explorer, click the “Tools” menu and select “Internet Options.”

2. Click the “Security” tab and choose "Custom Level."

3. Scroll down until you see “Scripting of Java applets” and check the box to enable.

4. Click “OK” to save this change and close the menu.

5. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.
