A thermal carafe may be an invaluable accessory for the heavy coffee drinker, as it allows one to keep his coffee fresh and hot for hours on end. The problem lies with cleaning: most thermal carafes are not dishwasher safe, and tend to stain heavily when used on a regular basis.
You'll be pleased to learn there's an uncomplicated process to clean a thermal carafe, and within minutes it will be stain-free once more and ready for the next pot of java.
Things You'll Need
- Orange based citrus cleaner
- Bottle brush
Rinse the carafe and pouring lid, taking care to drain all excess water from both.
Spray orange based cleaner into the thermal carafe, taking care to cover all surfaces of the inside. Spray the top piece, depressing the pour spout to allow the orange cleaner to coat the inside of the pour spout. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Scrub all surfaces lightly with a bottle brush; all of the coffee stain and other residue will immediately be released from the surfaces. Rinse thoroughly, taking care to run water through the spout mechanism to remove all of the cleaning product. Your thermal carafe is now clean and ready for use.
