1
Select the piece of glass that you wish to drill. Do not use safety glass, as this is much more difficult to drill.
-
2
Go to the hardware store and purchase a glass bit. If the hole you are drilling is less then 1/2" then you want to chose a round head drill bit. If it is over 1/2" then chose a hollow drill bit.

3
Mark the location that you want to drill the hole. Try to stay away from the edges as much as possible to reduce the chance of breakage.
-
4
Make sure that the glass is fully supported. A solid flat surface like a piece of plywood works well.
-
5
Start drilling a very slow speed. you want to make sure that you are applying consistent pressure. If you are doing a large hole then start off by drilling a smaller hole and work your way up to the correct size.

When you have drilled almost completely though the glass, you will need to flip the glass. This prevent any splintering or cracking in the glass.
