Things You'll Need:
- Crank timer
- Indoor outdoor cover for the vent
- Conduit made of metal
- Wood 2 x 4s
- Wood screws
- Screw driver
- Reciprocal saw

Step 1
Locate the location you want to exhaust fan to be in the ceiling.

After locating the place where the ceiling exhaust fan will be installed, go into the attic area of the home and check to see that you will not be cutting into any installed wiring. Also check to make sure the fan is the correct size.

Take a pencil and mark the area where the exhaust fan will be placed, find a suitable area to install the timer to be installed and drill a hole into the ceiling for the fan. Also drill holes for the timer and wiring.

Get the wood 2 x 4's and make a frame that will house the exhaust fan as this will be placed in inside the attic, using the trusses in the attic as part of the frame. Take three inch screws and frame in the 2 x 4's.

Cut a hole into the ceiling inside the framed area with the reciprocating saw, this is where the exhaust fan will be installed.

Take the exhaust fan and lower it into the framed area, and install using the wood screws.

Step 7
Make sure to turn off the electric at the circuit breaker, take the power cable from the exhaust fan box and strip off the cables end attachments. Fasten the cables to the fan and down into the crank timer.

Step 8
Make a hole with the reciprocating saw into the ceiling for the vent that is outside. Mount the conduit to the exhaust fan, and then place into the roof area. Take the tabs on the conduit, bend and screw into the roof.

Take the vent cover and place over the vent opening in the roof, screw it in place and then use tar to make a bonded surface so no water can get in.

Put a cover for the exhaust fan over the ceiling hole and you have finished installing a ceiling exhaust fan.
