Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • clay pot garlic roaster
  • garlic bulb
  • tablespoon olive oil for each bulb
  • salt and pepper
  • herbs of choice
  1. Step 1
Soak Clay Pot Garlic Roaster in Water

To roast garlic in a clay pot you first need to soak the pot. Soak the top and bottom of your clay pot garlic roaster in water for at least 15 minutes. This will create a humid environment for the garlic and will make the garlic more flavorful and delicious.

  2. Step 2

Before you roast garlic in a clay pot there are a few things you need to do to prepare it. To prepare the garlic, cut about a 1/2 inch off the top of the head. This will not only expose the garlic to receive the oil and seasonings but it also makes it easier to remove the scrumptious cloves after roasting. Remove some of the outer skin from the garlic bulb. I would say about 2 layers and leave the rest.

  3. Step 3

Place the garlic bulb into the clay pot and drizzle it with 1 tablespoon of olive oil per bulb. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and herbs if desired. Then put the lid on.

  4. Step 4

Put the clay pot into the oven and set the temperature to 350 degrees, no need to preheat. Bake for 1 hour. If you would like your roasted garlic to have a more golden color you can remove the clay pot lid, drizzle a little more olive oil and bake for an additional 15 minutes
