How to Make a Ghost Parachute for a Kid's Craft Project
A ghost parachute is an inexpensive kid's craft that can be fashioned out of ordinary household items. Once complete, kids can play with the ghost parachute inside the house, or out in the yard. This project is especially popular around Halloween.
Things You'll Need
- White plastic grocery bag
- White thread
- Marker
- Single-hole punch
- Plastic figure (Lego man or soldier)

Draw a ghost face onto the plastic grocery bag. Encourage kids to get creative with happy, sad or spooky faces. Consider using different colored markers for the face.

Spread out the bag on a flat surface and trim off the handles so that there are four points at the bottom of the ghost. Discard the plastic trimmings.

Punch a hole in each of the ghost parachute's four corners.

Cut four strands of white thread into 35-inch pieces (88.9 cm). Fold one piece of thread in half. Thread about 2 inches (approximately 5 cm) of the loop end through one of the corner holes. Insert the double-threaded end through the loop and tighten. Repeat for each piece of thread.

Tie the loose strands of thread to a lightweight object. A toy figure such as a small soldier, Lego man, animal or plastic bug all work well.

Tips & Warnings
This project is for children over 3 years old. Supervision is required during ghost parachute play. Do not allow youngsters to cover their face or head with the plastic parachute.
