My steampunk jewelry collection started with this piece

First off, it helps to define what you're looking for! Steampunk has been variously described as Victorian science fiction, as an offshoot of the cyberpunk movement of the 1980's, or as "scientific romance" - a marriage of 20th century items with a Victorian aesthetic. Whatever the terms you use to describe it, steampunk jewelry is remarkable for its intricate detailing and use of natural materials. People who like steampunk jewelry are often drawn to the "darker" aspects of steampunk pieces as well - many pieces are made of old clock parts, for example, which when worn on a living body present obvious allusions to mortality.
