How to Install a Rear Lip Spoiler
A rear lip spoiler mounts under the rear bumper cover and extends the length of the bumper cover. This gives the car a custom look, makes the car appear lower and if used in conjunction with side skirts and a front lip spoiler, the entire car will appear much lower. Body shops will install rear lip spoilers but at a high price. Learn how to install a rear lip spoiler for yourself and save money.

Instructions

1
Read directions that may have come with the rear lip spoiler. Some lip spoilers come with a mounting kit but most don't.
-
2
Measure how long the rear lip spoiler is and then measure and mark exactly where you want it to be mounted under the rear bumper cover.
-
-
3
Clean the area under the bumper cover and on the rear lip spoiler with rubbing alcohol and a rag.
-
4
Apply the double-sided tape to the rear lip spoiler. Place the spoiler on the bumper cover in the area you marked. Press firmly. Double-sided tape alone will not hold the rear lip spoiler to the car, but it will keep the spoiler in place between bolts/screws to keep any gaps from forming.

5
Use the drill and drill through the holes in the rear lip spoiler and into the bumper cover. Mount the screws or bolts in these holes for added strength.
