Vinyl siding can be great but anyone who has ever painted over it soon realizes how difficult it is to remove paint from it. There are many products out on the market that can help but they wont work all that well if you don't know the correct steps to follow.
Things You'll Need
- Paint Remover
- Rough Sponge
Purchase a paint remover that states it can be used on vinyl.
Wash off the area of the vinyl where the paint will be removed from with a hose and then dry it with a towel.
Apply the paint remover to the clean, dry area of vinyl where the paint is and wait a few minutes.
Scrub the area with a rough sponge until the paint comes off of the vinyl surface. If the paint isn't coming off apply more paint remover.
Wipe the area off with a dry towel until all of the paint and paint remover are removed from the vinyl.
Wash the area with a hose to remove any leftover paint and paint remover.
Tips & Warnings
- Only use paint remover that can be used on vinyl as some paint removers can damage vinyl. Make sure the paint remover is used in a well ventilated place because the fumes can be toxic.
