Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup berries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • Water

  • Bar of soap (without dye or fragrance)

  • Grater

Berries can produce colors like blue, purple, red and pink. With just a few ingredients you probably already have around the house, you can make your own homemade paint, using berries for a colorant. Homemade paint is a safe, toxin-free alternative to purchasing paints from the store. These paints are suitable for children to use as finger paints as long as you use homemade or all-natural bar soap without dyes or fragrance.

Try different juices or tea to create different colors.
