Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Skil saw prior to removing the blade. Pull the trigger to ensure that there is no power running to the saw.

    • 2

Push the button that is located on the front face of the saw--this button will lock the blade in place when held down. Push the button down and rotate the saw blade until it locks the blade in place. Keep holding this button down until the blade is loosened with a wrench.

    • 3

Place the wrench, which can either be adjustable or one that was especially designed for the saw, onto the bolt holding the blade in place and turn counterclockwise. Place the bolt and the circle washer to the side.

    • 4

Pull up the blade guard using the guard-lifting handle. Next, pull the saw blade out from the bottom of the saw. Pay attention to what way the teeth are facing on the saw as this is the way the new saw blade will be installed.

    • 5

Place the new blade into the saw, ensuring that the teeth are facing the right direction. In most cases, the teeth will be facing up at the front of the saw and there will be arrows on the saw blade itself showing the way the teeth should be spinning.
