How to Clean & Polish Wood Kitchen Cabinets

Cleaning and polishing your wood kitchen cabinets will add not only to their beauty but it will make them last longer. Things You'll Need

• Furniture polish
• Soft rag
• Furniture touch-up stick

Instructions

1. Look for any small scratches on your cabinets and fill them in with a furniture touch-up stick. You can purchase them at any hardware store and easily find a stick that will match the color of your cabinets. Just fill in the scratch and wipe it with a soft cloth to blend the color in. Clean off any sticky spots or food spots with soap and water.

2. Let the cabinets dry thoroughly before applying any furniture polish.

3. Decide on which type of furniture polish you want to use. There are many products on the market from spray-on furniture polish to cloths that contain furniture polish. Then, either wipe your cabinets down with the furniture polish cloths or spray on the polish and evenly distribute it onto the cabinets with a cloth.

Tips & Warnings

• If you spray on the furniture polish, make sure that your cabinets are cleared of any food or any item that would be harmed by the furniture polish, as the overspray will go onto your counter. Be extremely careful after you polish your cabinets because the overspray will also land on your kitchen floor, making it very slippery. Make sure that you warn everyone else in the household so that no one takes a nasty fall from the slippery floors.
