How to Replace a BMW Fog Lamp Lens
Having a cracked or nonworking fog lamp is annoying and unsightly. It's simple to replace this part. The replacement can be done in about 15 minutes, even if you don't know much about autos.

Find the fog lamp in the front fender corner.

To get to the lamp, you must first pop out the grille next to it. There are two pins that you must pull down with either your fingers or pliers. Remove the pins and put them in a safe place.
Pop out the grille by shaking gently back and forth. -

Now you can access the fog lamp. There are two bolts on the inside corners of the fog lamp; use a socket wrench or regular wrench to loosen and remove the bolts. Pull the inside corner out toward you.

Take the fog lamp out of the fender until you see a connector with wires coming out of it. Disconnect the fog lamp at the connector and remove it completely from the car.

Now take your new fog lamp out of the box. Examine it to see whether it's broken. Connect the new fog lamp's connector to the wire connector on your car.

Push the fog lamp into the fender.

Tighten the bolts with your socket wrench or regular wrench.

Now turn on the car's fog lamps to see whether they work. If they don't, look at the wire connection to see if it's loose and at the fog lamp itself to make sure the bulb isn't broken.

Replace the grille. Push the two pins back up into the car with your hands.
You're all done.

Tips & Warnings
Always get the exact fog lamp for your year, make and model of BMW. You can buy a new fog lamp from a local dealer or online. They cost from $70 to $130 new; you can also try to find a used, working fog lamp.
