Bluetooth headsets are popular electronic accessories for cell phones because they enable the user to keep her hands free to complete other tasks while talking.
Bluetooth headsets are available in many different brands, varieties and price ranges. Most operate in a similar fashion, with only slight variations among the brands.
Here are some guidelines and suggestions for general bluetooth headset use.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bluetooth headset Headset charger USB cable (if applicable) Compatible cell phone
  1. Step 1

Charge the bluetooth headset according to the manufacturer's instructions. Connect the headset to the charger (with a USB cable, if applicable) and allow it to charge for at least 2 hours.
Disconnect the headset from the charger.

  2. Step 2

Turn on the bluetooth headset using its power button, as described in the owner's manual. There may be a "boom" that must be opened for the bluetooth to function. If so, open the boom.

  3. Step 3

Look on the top of the headset for a main function button. Press and hold this button for several seconds. Most bluetooth headsets begin to blink at this point. This should enable the "pairing" mode, in which you can connect your headset to your cell phone.

  4. Step 4

Turn on your cell phone to begin the pairing process. Select the bluetooth option and direct the phone to search for bluetooth devices within range. When the cell phone detects the bluetooth headset, select that device and enter a pass key (almost always "0000"; consult your owner's manual if not).

  5. Step 5

Confirm that the pairing was successful by making a call with the cell phone to make sure that you can hear the call over the bluetooth headset.

  6. Step 6

Conserve bluetooth headset batteries by turning the headset off when not in use.
