Things You'll Need:
- Adobe Photoshop 5+ Embroidery software

Step 1
Open Adobe Photoshop, and open the file that you want to convert to an embroidery pattern. Whether this is a cartoon design or photo, your objective is to reduce the amount of different colors in the design.

If the image has a background color, use the magic wand tool to select it, then press Backspace to delete it.

In the File menu, click on "Image," "Mode," then "Indexed Color." This will convert the design to a low-color image.

Save the image to an accessible location in .tga format.

Open your embroidery software, and in the File menu, select "Import." Find the file that you just saved and double-click on it.

Step 6
Follow the on-screen wizard to import the file.

Step 7
Save the design to your embroidery card, and insert the card into your embroidery machine.
