Blog is short for "weblog." Yahoo allows you to create free blogs and you don't have to know anything about web design. It's a website that is updated regularly and is often used as a sort of online diary. Many blogs have a particular focus such as politics, crafting or being a single mom. But still other blogs are a great way to keep in touch with friends and family by writing about your life. One great feature of blogging is that readers can participate in your blog by commenting.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with an Internet connection
  1. Step 1

Go to http://360.yahoo.com/. This is the site where you'll sign up for your blog. If you already have a yahoo email account, you can choose to sign in. If you don't already have a yahoo account, simply choose sign up instead.

  2. Step 2

Choose "My Blog" at the top of the page to begin to create a blog. This is where you will begin to choose how you want your blog to look.

  3. Step 3

Answer the next three questions. These will determine what kind of background your blog has, which colors, and the general look and feel. You'll also decide on a name for your blog and choose some keywords that describe your blog.

  4. Step 4

Write your first blog entry. To do this click on "Compose a New Blog Entry" near the top of the page. This is how you create the content for your blog. These entries are called posts.

  5. Step 5

Choose a title for this blog post and type it in the title box. Write the content of your post in the main box and then choose to publish it. You can choose "View Blog" to see what your blog will look like to other users.

  6. Step 6

Send out your blog's URL to your friends and family so they can check your blog regularly. They'll be able to interact with you by leaving comments.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't want search engines like Yahoo and Google to be able to find you by name, consider using just your first or last name, or a blog alias.
