Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut six pieces of 2 by 2 inch lumber into pieces that are 6 feet (60 inches) long.

  2. Step 2

Cut twelve pieces of 2 by 2 inch lumber 14 inches long. These are your shelve supports. Nail these too the 60 inch pieces at intervals of 15 inches. This will give you three vertical supports for your shelves.

  3. Step 3

Space the vertical supports at a 4 foot interval, then lay 1 by 10 planks, 8 feet long, on top of the shelf supports. Nail the planks onto the shelf supports.

  4. Step 4

Cut pieces of 2 by 2 lumber for cross pieces. Nail these to the back of the shelves. The cross pieces will provide rigidity and strength to shelves. Place the set of shelves in the location you've chosen. If you'd like, paint or stain the wood.
