Install Roman Shades
Install Roman Shades

Installing Roman Shades can be a bit tricky. It isn't very difficult, but it can be hard without someone to help. Grab a friend and follow these steps!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • L brackets
  • Tape measure
  • Drill or screwdriver
  • 2" Phillips Head screws
  • A friend to help!
  1. Step 1

Measure about 6 inches in from the outside edges of the board on the top of your shade. Mark these spots with a pencil and drill holes to match your screw diameters.

  2. Step 2

Using the same measurement as above, measure your wall/window frame the exact same distance in. Mark this with a pencil and drill a hold to match your screw diameters.

  3. Step 3

Install your L brackets onto the wall or window frame using the holes you've already drilled.

  4. Step 4

Have your friend help you by holding the roman shade up and placing the holes drilled into the board on top of the L brackets installed on the wall/window frame. Working from below, use the drill to screw the top of the L bracket to the bottom of your Roman Shade mounting board. Done!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the area you are installing the L brackets to has good support. If needed, use wall anchors for added support.
