Things You'll Need:
- A vision for your barn.
- The website link below.
-
Step 1
First, decide what your overall vision is for your barn and the approximate dimensions you want. You may wish to make a rough sketch on paper first to have a general idea of what you want.
-
Step 2
Next, go to fbibuildings.com. Click the Design on Line tab. Scroll down to the icon that says FBI Planner. Click on this.
-
Step 3
Now you have a choice of choosing a Pre-Built Plan, or a Design Your Own Plan. For all you budding architects, I recommend starting out with one of the Pre-Built Plans. Even if you decide to switch to the Design Your Own Plan later, starting out with the Pre-Built Plan will give you some ideas.
-
Step 4
After clicking on Pre-Built Plans, on the menu on your right, scroll down to "Equine Building". You will have 2 choices here: 4 stall or 12 stall. After you choose one of these, you can use the tools at the top of the design, and the menu items to the left to add details like feeding stalls, location and direction of doors, farm supplies and equipment, etc... If you choose the Design Your Own plan, you will first have to select dimensions for your barn, then use the drawing tools to add your own stalls, storage spaces and what not. You will then have access to the same menu on the left for adding details to your barn.
-
Step 5
When you are satisfied with your plan, click Save As. You will be prompted to register in order to save your plan, however this is quick, free and required only minimal demographic information.
