Install a Spray-In Bed Liner Into Your Truck

This article will tell you how to put a spray-in bedliner into your truck. This is an easy do-it-yourself project that will save you hundreds of dollars. This is a much better way to protect your truck than a normal drop in bed liner. Drop in bed liners will scratch up your bed and hold water causing unwanted rust. This will never scratch, and never come off! Definitely one of the cheapest and best additions to any truck.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plasti-kote truck bed liner kit (or similar kit)$50
  • a few hours
  • painters tape
  1. Step 1

The first step to installing your bed liner is to tape off any areas that you do not want covered. This is very important because the liner will not come off after it has dried.

  2. Step 2

Scuff up any areas that the liner will be applied.

  3. Step 3

Begin applying liner to the side walls of the truck bed and any corners or places that can't be reached with the roller.

  4. Step 4

Now that all hard to reach areas have been applied, begin rolling on the liner with the roller.

  5. Step 5

After you are finished applying the first complete coat, let it dry for about thirty minutes. Then apply a second coat. After it dries, apply the third and fourth coats.

  6. Step 6

Remove the tape and admire your new truck bed. You will want to let your bed dry for one day before putting anything in it. Now you will have a new bedliner that will not scratch and will last you the life of your vehicle.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also apply this to the sides of your vehicle the same way. Just follow the steps above!
  • Take your time, it will be worth it in the end.
