In this how to I will show you how to make an old book into a work of art.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • acrylic paints
  • glue
  • pens
  • markers
  • colored pencils
  • decorative paper
  • embellishments
  1. Step 1

    Take your book and begin with the first page you want to work with. Use your supplies to cover and embellish these pages. Leave selected words or pictures to create your own story.

  2. Step 2

    Skip to the next page you want to work on. You can glue together or paint over any pages you do not want to embellish or use in your book.

  3. Step 3

    To change the cover of a laminated cover book you will need to scrape the coating with a razor blade or sand down with sandpaper, then paint. After painting decoupage or embellish as you please.

  4. Step 4

    Use scrapbooking embellishments to add to your book. Ribbons, images, paper punches, and many other tools can be used to create a truly unique piece of artwork to share with friends or family or keep for your own personal inspiration.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't over-think it just attack the book with your creative energy.
  • Try not to tear pages out to get rid of them as this may mess up the binding of your book.
