Step 1
Look for something around the house to use as a vessel for the personalized gift baskets. Some ideas are your old fruit basket, your kids’ Easter basket or a coffee can. Any vessel you can come up with will look great after a quick coat spray paint to dress it up.
-
Step 2
Make a base for the gifts to sit on in basket. An old terrycloth towel can work great. You can dye it, tea stain it or even spray paint it with the basket.
-
Step 3
Collect a few cute things that you will never use like that statue from Aunt Ruth that is sitting in your closet. Chances are you have a few of these types of things kicking around from previous gifts on other occasions.
-
Step 4
Now you have to make it personal. Consider who you are giving it to. For most people, you can dress it out with a bottle of wine. For others you might have to be a little more creative and actually might mean leaving the house for a moment. The important thing is that there is something in the basket that makes them know that it is for them.
-
Step 5
Fill the basket out with candies and homemade cookies. Most people already have these around if you are doing this for the holidays. Weather you made them beforehand or had someone give them as a gift, they will work great. Whichever the case, having a few tasty treats will make the gift basket a great gift. As an alternative, you can always go with cheeses, nuts, sausages and things of that sort.
-
Step 6
Wrap the whole basket in cellophane or wrapping paper. Lay a sheet out, place the basket in the middle, pull it all up to the top and twist it off like a big candy. Finish off your personalized gift baskets with a big gaudy bow and you are done. Personalized gift baskets in no time!
