1
Determine where you want your outdoor lighted sign displayed. Make sure that you can run electricity to the area you want your sign displayed. Turn off the electrical power in the area you want to install your sign. This action protects you from being electrocuted when you hook up your wiring.

2
Measure from the ends of the raceway to find it's middle point between the fastener holes. In some sign models, this is actually referred to as the steel framing or backing. Hold the mount against the wall, then mark the wall where the fastener holes are located. It's important because you don't want to drill a bunch of holes all over the wall.

Create an outlet behind the wall. To do this, first mark the location of the cable to the power source on the raceway. Measure its location and draw a circle on the wall. This is where you will drill through the wall to allow your power supply cable to reach the outlet behind the wall. Lastly, drill a hole that is roughly five eights of an inch in diameter through the designated marking on the wall where the power supply cable will fit. Clean up any debris from the wall before you continue with the installation.

Fit the power supply cable through the wall. Plug the other end into the neon power transformer inlet. Have a friend help you hold the sign up as you do this. If you're using a ladder, you may need a couple of friends to help. Once you've pulled the power supply through the wall, you can start bolting the sign into the wall to secure it in place.

5
Secure your sign on a wall. If your wall is thick wood, use thru-bolts and backer plates to hold the sign in place. If your wall is thin wood or stucco, then toggle-bolts will suffice. Styrofoam walls will require some extra layers to reinforce it. Try using plywood as a backing, and then secure the arrangement and sign with thru-bolts. Concrete walls are going to require a bit more work. For the latter you will use lags to support the sign. You'll need to drill into the wall using a drill bit of the same thickness as the lags. When you're done, inspect the sign to ensure it is secure to the wall.

Plug the other end of the power supply cable into an outlet. Turn on your power. Your sign is ready to bring in business.
