How to Make Orange and Clove Ornaments

Homemade holiday treats are the best! An easy project for the whole family is making orange and clove ornaments.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Oranges
• Bottle of cloves
• Dull pencil or knitting needle
• pencil for tracing
• festive ribbon

1. 

   Choose round, fresh, attractive oranges. You can find these in bulk. If you think you will use this many, then this is a good buy. However, you may want to buy a smaller amount to begin with.

2. Lightly trace a design on each orange with the pencil. Simple is best. Some suggestions: a large star, a swirl, a heart. Leave space on the outside of the orange to tie your ribbon.

3. Use the dull pencil or the knitting needle to make indentions on your pattern. Press down firmly to make it easier when you start putting in the cloves. Evenly space the cloves. Some may break, so make sure you have plenty as back up.

4. Press the cloves into the marks on the orange. Once you are done, tie the ribbon around the outside of the orange. Tie the ribbon tightly so that the orange does not slip.
