Instructions

    • 1

Take a coffee filter and fold it in half.

    • 2

Fold in half again, and continue until you can no longer fold because of the thickness of the filter.

    • 3

With your scissors, cut shapes along the folded edges, as well as the outside edge of the filter.

    • 4

To add more designs, open one fold of the filter and fold a new edge along an uncut part of the filter.

Once you have finished cutting all the shapes you desire, make a small cut or shape on the pointed tip of the filter. Unfold, spray with spray starch and press lightly with an iron. You can also add some glitter if you want a little more sparkle.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to hang your snowflakes from a ceiling, use light string or fishing line and ornament hooks. Anything heavier will interfere with the freedom of the snowflake to hang loosely.

  • Be careful not to over-cut the coffee filter while designing your snowflake. The filters are very thin as it is, and if they are over-cut, they will not open up properly.
