If you’ve got an area in your home where a mirror is placed over a piece of wooden furniture, chances are someone has used the spot as a vanity. Though you probably don’t mind hosting a last minute primp, sticky hairspray residue can ruin the finish of your woodwork, not to mention that it looks unattractive. Here are a few tips to keep your woodwork hairspray-free.
Things You'll Need
- 70 Percent Isopropyl Alcohol
- Soft Cloth
- Furniture Polish or Wax
Soak a soft cloth with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol, and rub it on the hair spray stain.
Wipe with a wet washcloth.
Dry with an absorbent towel or cloth.
Mix a few drops of dish soap into some hot water, and sponge resistant hair spray stains. Be sure to dry the wood thoroughly when the area is no longer sticky.
Use commercial furniture polish or wax to make it easier to clean future stains.
