Make this spooky vampire to decorate your home for Halloween. Made with construction paper and a trash bag, this craft costs almost nothing to put together. It's also an excellent craft project for kids to do along with their parents. The garbage bag vampire looks good displayed in a window, on the refrigerator or just sitting atop a carved pumpkin. You could also use him to create a ventriloquist vampire costume.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Place a CD on top of some white construction paper. Trace around its edges with a pencil to get a perfectly round shape, then cut it out with sharp scissors.

  2. Step 2

Trace the CD over a piece of black construction paper. Cut this circle out as well. Cut out a square shape inside the black circle to form the vampire's hair.

  3. Step 3

Draw the shape of lips on red construction paper. Use a permanent black marker to draw a line on the part of the lips. Cut out a red triangle for a nose. Cut two small triangles out of the remaining white construction paper to make vampire fangs.

  4. Step 4

Use craft glue to attach the vampire's black hair piece to the white circle. Glue the lips on the bottom third of the face shape, then glue the red triangular nose near the middle. Glue on two wiggle eyes slightly below the hairline.

  5. Step 5

Cut a trash bag in half. Cut out triangular segments from the bottom of the bag. Open the bag, then rearrange the folds until the points overlap. Tape the bag together at the top. Fold the two sides back so that the topmost part of the bag is about the same width as the vampire's face. Tape them down. The trash bag should now form an almost triangular shape.

  6. Step 6

Attach the face to the top of the trash bag segment with glue. Add tape at the back to hold the head in place. Secure two of the triangular cut-outs from the trash bag to the back of the craft to form a collar.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the triangular cuts you make at the bottom of the trash bag are very even. Measure them with a ruler if necessary. This ensures that the collar is the same shape on both sides of the vampire.
  • Use a damaged trash bag for this craft if possible. Use the good half, then save the rest for future craft projects.
