Instructions

  1. Make Christmas Refrigerator Magnets

    • 1

Buy some Christmas material that has snowmen, Christmas trees or Santas on it. Cut out the pictures from the material in squares with at least 1 inch of border material around the picture. Because of the placement of the pictures on the material, not all of your squares will be the same size.

    • 2

Cut some scrap pieces of wood in squares 1 inch smaller than your material squares. Glue the material square on the piece of wood. Wrap the ends around to the back, and glue them down.

    • 3

Cut a piece of magnet to fit the back of the wood. Glue the magnet on covering the ends of the material. Repeat with different pictures.

    Using Wood Cutouts

    • 4

Buy a Christmas tree, gingerbread man and snowman wood cutouts from your local craft store. Gather your paint, glue, ribbon and pompoms, and cover your work area.

    • 5

Paint the Christmas tree completely green and the gingerbread man all brown. Paint the snowman white, but put the paint on thicker. Blot it with a rag or your paint brush to make it look like snow. Let them dry for about an hour.

    • 6

Decorate your Christmas tree by taking glue and brushing it on across the tree in three sections using a horizontal zigzag decoration. Sprinkle glitter over the glue, and shake off the excess. Glue pompoms to the ends of the branches to look like balls. Glue a gold pompom on the top for a topper.

    • 7

Use a thin paint brush and white paint to outline the gingerbread man. Then paint squiggly lines to show his feet and hands. Paint his eyes and mouth on with black paint. Glue red pompoms on for buttons. Tie a thin red ribbon in a bow around his neck.

    • 8

Paint the snowman's eyes, nose and mouth on with black paint. Glue black pompoms on for buttons. Make arms for your snowman with brown pipe cleaners, and glue onto the back.

    • 9

Cut a piece of magnet to fit each wood cutout. Glue onto the back of the wood. Stick them to your refrigerator.

Tips & Warnings

  • To give your Christmas picture magnets a 3-D effect, stuff a little polyfiberfill under the picture, and glue the edges around the back of the wood.
