How to Make Paper Flowers

Paper crafts are great low-cost choices for kid craft projects. This paper flower craft project is a perfect way to help your child create whimsical Valentines Day or Mothers Day bouquets for loved ones. These fun paper flowers are easy for even your littlest ones to make. They look great displayed in a simple vase!

Things You'll Need

• Construction paper
• Pipe cleaners
• Scissors
• Large beads (optional)

Instructions

1. Bend the tip of a pipe cleaner to make the center of your flower. You can make a small bend for a tiny flower center, or you can bend and twist the tip to make a large ball. You can thread the tip through a large bead for a creative twist.

2. Cut a piece of construction paper for the center-most part of the flower petals. Get creative! You can cut a simple circle, or cut pointy or scalloped edges.

3. Poke a small hole in the center of the flower petal piece. Thread the piece on the pipe cleaner stem and push it all the way to the tip created in Step 1.

4. Continue cutting flower petal pieces out of construction paper and threading them onto the pipe cleaner stem. You can create just a few flower petal pieces, or you can get more elaborate and create more pieces.

5. Crinkle, fold, and bend the construction paper flower petal pieces to achieve the texture and look that you desire.

6. Slide a bead onto the pipe cleaner under the flower petal pieces to hold the pieces in place (optional).
