Once the wood is completely dry, cover any areas that you do not want painted such as window glass or doors. Apply one coat of primer. Allow to dry thoroughly.

Apply one to two coats of the acrylic latex exterior house paint.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Covering any areas you do not want to paint is much easier than trying to remove unwanted paint after you are finished.

    • Wear old clothing, hat and gloves that you can dispose of to paint in.

    • Cover shoes to keep them from being spattered with paint.

    • Cover bushes, plants or porch areas with a drop cloth or plastic to keep paint off them.

    • Purchasing cheap paint does not save you money in the long run. Good quality paint lasts much longer and gives you better coverage for your money.
