The basics of replacing or installing a new faucet.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Pipe cutter
  • Supply lines
  • Faucet
  1. Step 1
    Water Valve
     
    Water Valve

    First turn water off at valves underneath sink.If there are no valves under the sink,shut the water off at the main.Open faucet to drain water from lines.Also open up a line somewhere lower than you're working to completely drain the line.

  2. Step 2
    Pipe Cutter
     
    Pipe Cutter

    Remove old faucet by unscrewing the nuts underneath the sink.Disconnect waterlines from faucet,if equipped with valves and supply lines.If not cut the half inch pipe with pipe cutter or sawzall.

  3. Step 3
    Compression Valve
     
    Compression Valve

    Install compression valves with adjustable wrench.Hook supply lines to new faucet.Slide into place,and tighten faucet nuts.Attach supply lines to valves.Turn water valves on,and check for leaks.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always check for leaks
