How to make Christmas trees out of books

The kids in my class love to make Christmas trees out of books. You can use any type of paper back book you want. Decorating the trees are my favorite part. Check it out.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Paper back readers digest
• Green paint
• Any small decorations you want
• A small star for the top

1. First remove the front cover and the back cover.

2. Take the first page of the Readers Digest magazine. Take the top corner of the first page, fold the page all the way toward you into the increase of the book. The fold should start at the very top increase of the page. The page should be resembling almost a triangle.

3. Do step one to all of the pages, The book should now resemble a tree, with a pointed top. It will stand on it own

4. Staple or tape the first and last pages together, the tree will stand open.

5. Now, spray paint the pages of the book green. if you need too, put something in between the pages so they won't stick together. Let it dry overnight.

6. Decorate as you please, I use everything from pompoms to sparkles to small ornaments. Add the star to the top with glue.

Tips & Warnings

• If I can figure out how to upload my pictures I will, so you can see what it looks like. But right now it's not working for me.
• I have tried this with a paper back phone book. It was bigger but didn't look as good to me. Try it and let me know what you think.
