These tulips also make a great gift for special occasions. Follow the steps listed to learn how to make egg carton tulips of your own.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An egg carton
  • Pipe cleaners or wooden dowels
  • Craft paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Old newspapers
  1. Step 1

Lay old newspapers down on the area you will be working, to avoid paint or glue staining the surface.

  2. Step 2

Cut the single cups apart from the egg carton. When finished, you should have 12 rounded cups, and you can discard the rest of the egg carton.

  3. Step 3

Use the scissors to cut a jagged edge around the edges of the 12 egg carton cups, to form the jagged appearance of tulip petals.

  4. Step 4

Place the egg carton cups jagged side down, and will the rounded side in the air on top of the newspaper covered surface, and apply paint to them.

  5. Step 5

Poke a small hole into the bottom of each of the egg carton cups to place the pipe cleaner or wooden dowels into once the paint has finished drying.

  6. Step 6

Insert the pipe cleaners or wooden dowels through the holes in the bottom of each flower cup, and secure with a dab of craft glue from the inside of the cup. Lay the flower cups on a flat surface to allow the glue time to dry.

  7. Step 7

Paint the inside of the flower cups once the pipe cleaners or wooden dowels have been firmly attached, and allow the paint to dry. Once the paint is dry, you can give them as gifts, arrange them in a vase, or place them within other decorative containers around the home.
