Surprise your sweetheart with a beautiful and tasty Hershey's Kiss rose bouquet. Thank your wedding guests for their love and support with a Hershey's Kiss rose favor. Delight your child's class on Valentine's Day with a Hershey's Kiss valentine or visit your child's class and teach them how to make one. These roses are very simple to make and you end up with an elegant creation almost too pretty to eat. Well, almost -- after all, chocolate is chocolate.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Hershey's Kisses
  • Pink, red or yellow cellophane gift wrap
  • 2 silk rose leaves
  • 18 gauge wire
  • 2 wooden skewers
  • Green floral tape
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters
  1. Step 1

Glue the bottoms of the Hershey's Kisses together using the hot glue. This will create the rose bud shape.

  2. Step 2

Poke the pointed end of the wood skewer into one tip of the chocolate rose bud for the stem. You could use wire for the stem, but do not poke it into the chocolate. Chemicals used in the manufacturing of the wire are toxic.

  3. Step 3

Cut a five-inch square from the desired color of cellophane.

  4. Step 4

Place the tip of one Hershey's Kiss in the center of the cellophane square.

  5. Step 5

Gather the points of the cellophane square below the chocolate rose bud. Twist slightly. Wrap the points in floral tape around the wire.

  6. Step 6

Cut three more five-inch squares for rose petals. Place the blunt end of the remaining wood skewer in the center of a cellophane square. Carefully, so as not to tear it, bring the points of the cellophane together. Remove the skewer. Repeat for the remaining two rose petals.

  7. Step 7

Space the gathered center of the rose petals around the bottom of the rose bud and attach the petals to the stem with the floral tape.

  8. Step 8

Determine the placement of the silk rose leaves and wrap them to the stem.

Tips & Warnings
  • Eliminate steps 6 and 7 if you want a simple Hershey's Kiss rose bud.
  • Put green floral foam in a flower pot and make an arrangement of Hershey's Kiss roses. Add baby's breath for a romantic bouquet.
  • Create a corsage by laying a shorter wire beside the bottom Hershey's Kiss. Wrap as before.
  • Insert short-stem Hershey's Kiss roses, baby's breath, ivy and ribbon into a bouquet holder for a stunning wedding bouquet.
  • If a softer look is desired, use tulle netting instead of cellophane. Tulle is not as stiff as cellophane, so it is actually much easier to handle.
