Instructions

    • 1

Measure and mark where you want the rod brackets to be place. Generally, curtain rods should be at least 1 to 2 inches outside the frame of a window and 4 inches higher.

    • 2

Hold the bracket in the spot you want it placed. Then take a pencil and mark two places with a pencil where the screws will go to install the brackets.

    • 3

Drill holes for the screws. If you aren't installing the screws into studs in your wall, screw in drywall screw holders first. This will ensure that your bracket is installed securely and won't collapse from the weight of your curtains.

    • 4

Screw the brackets to the walls. A double curtain rod will have at least two screws for each bracket. Hold the bracket firmly against the wall and use a Phillips screwdriver to install the screws tightly.

    • 5

Install the curtain rod closest to the wall first. Put the curtain on the rod and then place the curtain rod into the wall bracket. Place a level on top of the curtain rod to ensue the curtain rod is installed straight.

    • 6

Repeat Step 5 to hang the second curtain rod. Once you've hung both curtain rods, adjust the curtains to your decorative taste.
