Plop, fizz, what a relief indeed! Make these pleasingly scented bath bombs to add some fizz and skin softening to your bath. Or make a bunch and wrap them decoratively to give as gifts any time of the year, or sell at your next school or church fund raiser. Read on to learn how to make fizzie bath bombs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tbsp. citric acid
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. essential oil
  • 3 tbsp. olive, almond or other oil
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Waxed paper
  • Small cup or bowl
  1. Step 1

Combine citric acid, cornstarch and baking soda in large mixing bowl. Stir well until ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. Step 2

Pour essential oil and olive or other oil into small mixing bowl and stir well. If desired, you can add a few drops of food color that correspond with the scent of your essential oil. For example, you can add three drops of blue and two drops of red if you are using lavender essential oil.

  3. Step 3

Add the oil mixture to the dry mixture a spoonful at a time. Mix well after each spoonful until all of the oil mixture is combined with the dry mixture.

  4. Step 4

Scoop a small handful of the mixture into your hands and form a small ball. Place the ball on the piece of waxed paper. Continue making small balls and setting them on the waxed paper until you have used all of the mixture.

  5. Step 5

Allow the balls to dry and harden completely. This will take between 24 and 48 hours, depending on the humidity in the room. Once they are completely dry you should store the balls in an airtight container. To use, simply drop on or two fizzie bath bombs into your tub full of warm water.

Tips & Warnings
