How to Make Soda Can Angel Ornaments

  1. Step 1

Choose a clean and dry soda can. Remove the pop top, and bend the can slightly in half. The top half is the head of the angel. The open hole will be the mouth of the angel. The bottom half of the can is the body of the angel.

  2. Step 2

Spread newspaper or other paper to protect your workspace. Paint the top half of the can a flesh color of your choice. Tempera paint will work well, especially if children are helping with this project as it is non-toxic.

  3. Step 3

Paint the bottom half of the can a bright color for the angels clothing. You can be creative with this part and paint it multiple colors, if you would like.

  4. Step 4

Glue on any pretty decorations that seem appealing, such as small sequins, gems or even glitter.

  5. Step 5

Using a hot glue gun, glue raffia (color of your choice) to the top of the can for hair.

  6. Step 6

Tie a bow with your ribbon or raffia and glue this to the backside of the can so that it sticks out on the sides of the can and looks like wings.

  7. Step 7

Paint on or glue on eyes for the angel.

  8. Step 8

Bend silver or gold pipe cleaner into a halo shape and glue this to the top of the can. You may have to use tape on the back of the can to keep the halo upright.

  9. Step 9

On the bottom of the can you can glue on a wooden heart for the feet, or you can paint the bottom of the can as desired.

  10. Step 10

Sit the angel on a shelf as decoration, or attach a string and place on a tree branch.
