A lot of comedians might want to be like Jerry Seinfeld. His is the Cinderella story of comedy, as he created one of the most successful situation comedies in the history of television.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Move to New York, if you do not live there already, and go to college in Queens. Major in communications if you would like to have the same background as Jerry Seinfeld.
Step2
Go to open mike night in New York City to try out your comedic talents after you complete your education and earn your degree.
Step3
Continue pursuing stand-up comedy by being an "observational comedian." Do many strange and interesting odd jobs as you struggle as a starving artist while waiting for your reputation to be made and your big break to come.
Step4
Get a small recurring role on a sitcom and get yourself fired from it.
Step5
Make as many appearances on talk shows as possible as the guest comedian. Become a regular favorite on these shows.
Step6
Co-create a sitcom based loosely on your life and star in it using your real name as the main character. Ensure that it is one of the most successful and well-loved sitcom in history.
Step7
Return to stand-up comedy after the successful sitcom has run its course.
Step8
Marry a younger partner in your 40s and have a family. Create a kid's movie about an insect and do some voice-over work.

Tips & Warnings

  • In the midst of it all, write a few comedy books based on your comedy routines, peddle a major credit card on national television and date a teenager while in your late 30s to be like Jerry Seinfeld.
