How to Tie a Slipknot for a Necklace

Step1
Overlap the ends of the two pieces of cord by about 4 inches.
Step2
Hold about 1 inch of the overlap together, one cord on top and one on the bottom.
Step3
Tie a regular overhand knot around the bottom cord with the top cord. You should still have a few inches of the end of the bottom cord hanging out of the knot.
Step4
Take the bottom cord and tie a regular overhand knot around the top cord. Tighten both knots.
Step5
Try to slide both knots back and forth. Both knots should move freely to resize the necklace.

  • Don't tie the knots too tight! The knots will not slide freely.
