This easy slipknot is perfect for necklaces, but you can also use it on any kind of cord or rope. The object of tying this knot is to be able to adjust a necklace to a number of sizes without having to untie the slipknot.
Overlap the ends of the two pieces of cord by about 4 inches.
Step2
Hold about 1 inch of the overlap together, one cord on top and one on the bottom.
Step3
Tie a regular overhand knot around the bottom cord with the top cord. You should still have a few inches of the end of the bottom cord hanging out of the knot.
Step4
Take the bottom cord and tie a regular overhand knot around the top cord. Tighten both knots.
Step5
Try to slide both knots back and forth. Both knots should move freely to resize the necklace.
Tips & Warnings
Don't tie the knots too tight! The knots will not slide freely.
