Summer is here and that means open doors to enjoy the fresh air. But who wants to put up with the bugs that fly through the hole in the screen made by your dog. Time to replace that screen so you can enjoy the breeze.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screening
  • Screen tool
  • Screen Spline
  • Utility knife
  1. Step 1

Remove the screen frame from the door and lay it on a flat surface. Remove the old screen and spline and toss it.

  2. Step 2

Cut the new screening to fit the frame and have at least 2 inches excess on all 4 sides.

  3. Step 3

Using the screening tool, gently push the screen into the groove. (This will take a few passes to secure the screen)

  4. Step 4

Insert the new spline into one corner and using the concaved side of the screen tool, push the spline into the groove. Make sure the spline is all the way in the groove so that the screen will be held tight.

  5. Step 5

Trim the excess screen from the outside edge of the spline. Replace the screen in your door and enjoy the breeze minus the bugs!
