Redraw your walk cycle animation frames if you find a glitch in your animation process that interrupts the character's flow of movement or if you catch mistakes in your walk cycle animation. Spacing of movement throughout the walk cycle must be even and the pace of movement of both strides must match or the animation looks choppy and stilted.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Clean up all the rough keys on each of your key frame positions.

  2. Step 2

Check that both strides in the walk cycle include a contact, recoil, passing and high point.

  3. Step 3

Ensure that the pace of movement of one stride matches the pacing of the other stride. Movement of the left and right legs must progress evenly in relation to each other for the walk cycle animation to flow properly.

  4. Step 4

Play your walk cycle animation and watch for a smooth flow in the progression of movement.

  5. Step 5

Watch for glitches and mistakes in arm and leg placement. Correct any errors that make the animation choppy.

  6. Step 6

Make sure each frame's movement in the walk cycle is evenly spaced and that the spacing of movement is the same for both left and right strides.

  7. Step 7

Redraw any frames that reflect glitches or mistakes in limb placement or spacing so the finished frames produce a smooth, unbroken walk cycle that is even between both strides.
