Instructions

    • 1

Make enough loops in the hairpin lace so that you can make a nice design when it is closed in a circle, about 50, or do what the pattern calls for.

    • 2

Slide your crochet hook through the loops on one side of the hairpin. Take the stitches off the hairpin using the crochet hook. Be sure you put the crochet hook through all the loops, and not above or underneath them.

    • 3

Hook a double piece of thread on the crochet hook and pull it through the loops of the one side of your hairpin lace. Hold the opposite ends tightly so you don't lose the thread as you pull it through the loops on the hairpin lace.

    • 4

Tie the ends of the doubled thread that you slid through the loops with your crochet hook in a knot, gathering the loops of the hairpin lace. Tie the thread again to secure the knot.

    • 5

Hide the tied ends by sliding them into the loops of the hairpin lace toward the center of the circular motif to complete it.
