- 1 roll of masking tape
- Trash bags
- Nice clear day
How to Clean Out Your Garage
Open up garage door, remove entire contents of the garage onto lawn or driveway. This gives you an empty garage to work with. All you need to do now is organize it. Don't forget to turn your radio on as well. Gets you in the mood to work !
Arrange all your totes and boxes inside of the garage where you would like to store them. Be sure to mark them with what you want inside of them. This makes it easier to separate different items inside the garage.
Separate all the items that you want to get rid of from the ones that you want to keep. Do not even bring the items back inside of the garage. Have a yard sale or better yet, donate them to a worthy cause. Remember most donation centers pick up merchandise when called.
Throw away anything that is broken inside the trash bags and immediately put them inside the trash cans. This makes even more room for you to fidget with the items you are planning to store inside of the garage.
Stack totes and boxes on top of each other once filled, do not over fill the totes you do want to be able to get inside of them if you need anything at a further point in time.
Tips & Warnings
- If you have bicycles, buy large hanging hooks to hang them on the ceiling in the garage. These gives much needed room when needed.
- If you have paint cans or even different kinds of sprays, buy a shelf that can be mounted to the wall and place items neatly on it.
