How to Connect a Car Alarm

The world today is not as safe as it once was. You have to be more careful to protect yourself and your possessions from being violated. One of your biggest possessions is your car. You can protect your car by installing a car alarm.

Instructions

    Prepare for the Installation

  1. Step 1

    Study your vehicle diagram and the car alarm diagram in the manuals so you'll know what wires need to be connected, where they're located and how to connect them properly.

  2. Step 2

    Eliminate any wires from the car alarm package you won't use, to avoid clutter.

  3. Step 3

    Wrap any long wires into a bundle and secure them with electrical tape.

  4. Step 4

    Open each car door and make sure the dome light comes on. This will ensure that all of the door triggers are working.

  5. Install the Alarm

  6. Step 1

    Identify which panels to remove from your car to install the alarm and remove them.

  7. Step 2

    Select a good spot under the panels to install the alarm.

  8. Step 3

    Install the alarm, test the wires and connect them.

  9. Step 4

    Choose a location to attach the siren that is away from heat sources and water. Make sure it's undetectable.

  10. Step 5

    Attach the siren and connect the wires to the alarm.

  11. Step 6

    Replace the panels in your car.

  12. Step 7

    Test the alarm.
