If you love to strum a few chords on your guitar, then you know it is all about the strings. Without them, you wouldn't be able to produce a sound. Well if your guitar string suddenly snaps, don't fret. Here is how to insert the guitar string into a tuning post next time you are changing the strings. Then you'll be ready to jam.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate the hole in the middle of the tuning post. This is on the top of the guitar above the neck.

  2. Step 2

Turn the tuning post so that it is parallel to the bridge at the bottom of the guitar. Simply turn the screw attached to the tuning post on the side and the hole will move in the appropriate direction.

  3. Step 3

Insert the guitar string through the hole on the tuning post. You have now completed this step and are ready to wrap the excess string around the tuning post of the guitar.

Tips & Warnings
  • To perform this action the other end of the string should already be secured in the bridge of the guitar.
  • Make sure that after you replace your guitar strings, you tune your instrument on a consistent basis. They will stretch quite a bit from the time you first attach them over your first few playing sessions.
  • Carry a tuning whistle in your pocket. That way you'll never be at a loss for a base note to tune your guitar to.
