When working with paint, it is important to know how to mix colours... I will be telling you how to mix colours in step by step instructions...

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Oil Paints
  • Acrylic Paints
  • turpentine
  • water cup
  • paintbrushes
  1. Step 1

    To begin with in painting we need to have the 3 primary colours- red, blue, and yellow and also tubes of white & black...

  2. Step 2

    We will be creating secondary colours with the primaries beginning by mixing yellow and blue together to make Green, a secondary colour....

  3. Step 3

    The next two secondary colour created are red + blue to make purple and red + yellow to make orange... I hope you are sofening up the paints bey also mixing in water for acrylics and turpentine for oil paints...

  4. Step 4

    Now we are going to be making shades + tints with our white + black tubes of paint... Black added to your base colour makes a shade colour where white added to the base colour makes a beautiful pastel...

  5. Step 5

    With colours you can mix like brown which is created with a few different colours you can also add the white and white to, to create tints and shades...

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure and have some sort of pallette to mix your paints on!
