Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ponytail holder
  • Hair pins
  • Comb
  1. Step 1

Pull the hair into a ponytail. The ponytail can be located at the nape of a neck or higher on the head, it works either way.

  2. Step 2

Divide the ponytail into evenly-sized sections. You can make as many of the sections as you like. The more you make, the more impressive the final result will be.

  3. Step 3

Start with one section of hair and twist it. As you twist, that sections will wind up on itself. When the section is completely twisted, secure it in place using hairpins.

  4. Step 4

Repeat this process with each section of hair. Twist some sections to your right and some to the left to ensure a full-looking bun when you're done.

  5. Step 5

Rearrange some of the sections by pinning them into different locations in order to create the final look you have in mind.

Tips & Warnings
  • Layered hair will have a spiky appearance to it in this hairstyle. Allow the ends to be loose rather than fighting to get them all tucked into a hair bun.
  • Be creative with this hairstyle; consider braiding some of the sections and twisting others for an extra-fancy hair bun.
