How to Delete Videos From an iPod

Apple continues to upgrade their iPods with increased storage capacity so it is easy to pack the iPod full of videos and other media. When your iPod is loaded with so many videos that you have no room for anything else, it's time to delete some of them. Follow these steps to quickly and easily delete videos from your iPod.

Things You'll Need:

  • USB cable
  1. Step 1

    Connect the iPod to your computer using a USB cable.

  2. Step 2

    Make sure you have set the preferences in your iPod to manual configuration. You cannot perform deletions if you do not do this.

  3. Step 3

    Start the iTunes program from your computer.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the iPod source icon in the iTunes program.

  5. Step 5

    Open the "Videos" subcategory by double-clicking on the "Videos" folder.

  6. Step 6

    Locate the video you wish to delete. Highlight the video file by clicking on it once.

  7. Step 7

    Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can configure your iPod to automatically delete videos in the playlist after they have played once by assigning rules to the videos the iPod downloads into the playlist.
  • If you delete the video from your library, it is erased completely. Make sure you want a permanent deletion of the video before performing this action.
