How to Make a Basic Homemade Facial Scrub

A facial scrub helps hasten the process of sloughing off dead skin cells so that the new skin can shine through. We are constantly creating new skin cells and sloughing off the old. New skin is fresh and glowing, while dead skin cells can make us look dull and tired. Create an effective, inexpensive basic facial scrub with just a few common pantry items.   1. Basic Facial Scrub I

      Cleanse the face with soap and water or the preferred product. Rinse well and pat dry.

      Place about tablespoon of cleansing cream in the palm of the hand. Add enough table salt to create a gritty paste.

      Use the fingertips to apply the mixture to the face in a circular motion. Use the fingertips of both hands once the mixture is applied.

      Work the mixture over the nose, chin and forehead. Focus on any problem areas to remove dead skin and loosen clogged pores.

      Rinse with warm water. Pat dry. Apply moisturizer.

    Basic Facial Scrub II

      Cleanse the face thoroughly and pat dry. Pull hair back with a clip or headband.

      Mix honey and 1 tbsp. of uncooked oats in a small bowl. Use the fingertips to spread the mixture on the face in a circular motion.

      Pay particular attention to problem areas, like the chin, alongside the nose, forehead. Leave the mixture on for 5 minutes.

      Rinse off the facial scrub with warm water. Dry gently with a towel. Use a moisturizer or toner.

      Make sure the face is completely clean and free of make-up before using the facial scrub. Rinse with clear water and pat dry so that the face is slightly damp.

      Mix a handful of baking soda in a small bowl with a few drops of water. Add enough water to create a runny paste.
