Instructions

    • 1

Add double-sided tape to the base of a Hershey's Kiss. Press the other bottom side of a second Hershey's Kiss against the tape so that the edges of each candy are flush with each other.

    • 2

Cut a piece of floral wire in the length you want for the stem of the rose.

    • 3

Bend one end of the wire into a right angle, using approximately 1/4 an inch of the end of the wire. Curve the bent end into a circle. Position the candies so that one of the pointed ends is inside the circle shape of the wire.

    • 4

Hold the candies and stem together. Place a 4-inch square piece of sheer fabric over the point of the candies that is opposite to the stem. Gather the fabric around the candy and pull it tightly over the candies.

    • 5

Wrap double-sided tape around the stem and fabric at the base of the candies to hold the fabric in place. Take a length of thin ribbon and press it against the double-sided tape directly beneath the candies.

    • 6

Wrap the ribbon around the tape; continue wrapping it down to the middle of the stem. Affix the ribbon to the stem using hot glue, but do not cut the ribbon off.

    • 7

Trim some cardstock into a large leaf shape, approximately 2 to 3 inches long, using a pair of pinking shears. Write a message, date or greeting on the cardstock leaf. Punch a hole in one end of the leaf shape.

    • 8

Insert the ribbon attached to the stem through the hole on the paper leaf; the message side of the leaf should be facing up. Continue wrapping the ribbon down the stem.

    • 9

Cut the ribbon at the end of the stem and use hot glue to secure it to the stem.

Tips & Warnings

  • Freeze the candies for 30 minutes, if necessary, before you begin working with them if they are soft or melting.
